Orphanage in line of fire…
Russian forces are now firing rockets at a military base in Odessa leaving the ‘House of Hope’ orphanage building in the line of fire. Whilst most of the children from the orphanage are now in Germany, the building is a refuge for families, other orphans and recovered drug and alcohol addicts awaiting evacuation.
Shelves are bare…
Food is scarce throughout Ukraine. Food is being brought to those in the orphanage…people from remote villages are riding bicycles up to 100 klms to the orphanage for food. Those supplying the food need our support to be able to purchase enough food and supplies for those still in Ukraine and for the refugees.
Opportunities arising
Some amazing things have happened and some great opportunities have opened up for the orphanage out of this ugly and senseless war. They are helping evacuate other babies, children and staff from Ukraine and assisting to find suitable buildings for them in West Germany. They need to acquire big vans or buses to move these children. What a challenge, but these children are very special to them and need our support.
