Life changing surgery continues…
With the help of your generous donations, Prof Krause and Prof Goh have conducted numerous fistulae and prolapse training camps and workshops since 2022 in Africa, Ghana and Cambodia with a fistula centre opened in South Sudan by a local doctor to provide much needed services to the local women.
In December, Prof Goh and Prof Krause returned to Ghana and Cambodia where this project subsidised many women’s operations and upskilled the local doctors. They returned to South Sudan in January 2024. where local practitioners were trained in a very busy camp. In the previous camp in Sudan with Prof Goh, 109 women were treated, and 78 operations performed mainly for obstetric fistulas in a week!
In February, Prof Goh and Prof Krause were invited to participate in an Expert Panel workshop on urinary incontinence following fistula surgery.
