Children blossoming…
The 67 children at Ashir Children’s Home are doing exceptionally well in all aspects…62 on campus and 5 pursuing higher education off campus. They are giving their best at school…a credit to the faculty and staff.
CWC visits…
Officials from the Government’s Children Welfare Committee (CWC) have visited frequently. They have recommended an emergency vehicle for the children, washing machine for the children and separate dormitories for the staff. The home is considering how and when these are feasible.
Staff recruited…
A cook and a watchman are new appointments to the campus and have settled in well.
Fairytale ending…
Eight year old Dhanalaxmi and her 5 year old brother, Manikanta, were brought to the home by the government officials after their mother tragically suicided by fire and their alcoholic father was unable to care for them. The children are now enjoying living in the home with their new family.
