Managers return…
Will and Julie were able to return to Cambodia in July 2022 after two and a half years of Covid-19 restrictions. They will continue to meet with the ELIC management and teachers fortnightly and monthly with the ELIC board until the end of November 2022 when the school year ends. They also visit Tria 3 times per week.
Teaching continues Monday to Wednesday and Friday to Saturday from 7 to 10.30am for the fifty pupils and four teachers.
Good news stories…
- Teachers and pupils celebrated the wedding of the head teacher Sothavut Rous.
- A visit by the leaders of the Singaporean Boys and Girls Brigade was much appreciated.
Challenges…
- The teachers need a laptop for their work.
- About half of the roads to Tria are tarred…due to aid from Australia which is most appreciated…but the other half of the roads make travelling difficult especially during the current wet season.
- Even though Will and Julie were absent from Cambodia for two and a half years, they still must pay for their Cambodian driver’s license for three years with penalties. The same applies for the road tax. Their car also requires some repairs after sitting for so long.
