Almost Over-Booked!
We have been inundated with books this year…All gratefully received!! We have had to open another day each week to cope with the extra sorting and packing. We also continue to receive unexpected monetary donations which facilitate the timely distribution of the book to Africa. Thank you!
Streamlining of processes and obtaining another shipping container means an eighth container left for Cape Town on August 20, 2021 with 15380 Kgs of used books and educational materials plus a quantity of steel library shelving to be distributed by Rotary Club of Newlands to needy schools in the region.
Generosity plus…
There are so many to thank for assisting Library Aid International Inc to continue supporting the literacy needs of children in third world countries. A local church have made a significant donation. Others include De Bruyns Transport, Romaine Park Christian Centre, IT Excellence, Penguin Baptist Church as well as all the Liberty Aid Abroad committee members who promote and support the project and volunteers who put in over 1500 hours of work sorting through more than 1300 assorted boxes of books and other educational materials for the 8th container for Cape Town.

‘Friends of Dr Bulle’ who distributed the contents of our 7th container in Southern Zimbabwe forwarded the letter below. This was a long process due to covid restrictions and teachers’ strikes (for not being paid).
Excerpt of letter…”May I on behalf of Ntunungwe Secondary School staff, learners, school development committee and indeed the entire community, express our collective and heartfelt gratitude for timeous donation to our young school. The donation, apart from engendering a reading culture in learners also has the simultaneous function of promoting the new curriculum. We envisage that this generous donation will open floodgates for yet more donations to accelerate the growth of Ntunungwe Secondary School…..”
