CONSTRUCTION OF SECOND ORPHANAGE
A tender for a new builder to complete construction of the second orphanage at Waterloo was approved following issues with the previous builders. Despite the Covid-19 curfews and unreliable builders disrupting construction, the dining and play area have been completed and a quotation received for the completion of the orphanage anticipated in late 2021.
The quality of care provided at the first orphanage at Tower Hill has been recognised by the Government agencies and they are extremely happy with progress of the second orphanage. They are waiting to provide orphans when it is completed.
The benefit of this project includes local labourers receiving on the job training in the building industry providing added skills to improve their future job prospects.
