Devastating earthquake in Nepal…
On 3 November, 2023 at 11:47 pm a 6.4 magnitude earthquake followed by 3 smaller earthquakes devastated Jajarkot and surrounding districts and Rukkum…causing loss of over 200 lives, hundreds injured and destruction of many buildings. Among the dead was the Vice Chair of the Nalgaadh Municipality Sarita Singh.
Local hospitals are at full capacity treating the injured. Others are being carried to Surkhet Provincial Hospitals and Nepalgunj. The government is providing a helicopter for rescue which arrived after a couple of days.
