School growing…
The new school at Tongi now has 60 students with a target of 100 following a concerted effort by the new principal and teachers. The lasting adverse effects of Covid-19 restrictions on the economy has slowed the registrations.
A fund-raising video is near completion for the campaign to increase student numbers along with delegations to churches, schools and other organisations in Australia to raise funds and expand the projects to reach more children.
Achievements…
The inaugural Edna Doherty Award for “Most Improved Student” in the school in 2022 was awarded to Md Moinuddin Hasan in 1st Grade. Edna’s estate contributed a significant amount towards the building of the school.
School sports day was a great success again with the children dressing up for the occasion.
Great things happening…
HADA board members met with the local Bangladeshi manager, Kaylan Biswas, and Australian manager, Warwick Lloyd from Caleb foundation, on a recent visit to Queensland. We were motivated and challenged by what is happening and planned in this and other projects in Bangladesh.
