Job well done…
The teachers, support staff and students have excelled. Twenty-two grade 7 students have qualified with high marks to go into Form one at a big Government school in Kaloko within walking distances from their respective homes. One student did not qualify due to illness throughout the year. Her health has improved with the help of the school and hopefully can re-sit her examinations this year.
The school is significantly impacting the lives of the Orphans and Needy children as well as the community at large. The learners are attaining quality education in a clean and enabling environment. They continue to give equal opportunities to the most vulnerable children with love and care, giving the children hope to continue their education and a love of learning, equipping them to improve academically and socially.
Trade School construction…
There is steady progress with constructing the Trade School. With the external works including the roof completed the plastering, electrical, and plumbing works for staff toilets, fitting of rain gutters, window bars and wall tiles continues.
Challenges…
- Water issues prior to the rainy season in November were a struggle. Despite two boreholes sunk in the school grounds, there has been no funding to install the water, the submissive pump, tank stand and tank.
- Shortage of electricity in Kaloko area despite other areas having eight hours or more due amount of rain. The rain also impacts on the efficiency of the solar panels.
A story of Resilience and Unwavering Hope…
Abigail is a 24-year-old ex-student of Future 4 Kids. She is one of seven children reared by a single mother who worked tirelessly to try and make things work. Life was difficult and they lived in extreme poverty, unable to attend school. The Director of Future 4 Kids, Mrs Chimbili, enrolled her in the school and fully supported her and other needy children from early childhood education to university. The project provided all school requirements, food, clothing, and other supports until the end of university. Abigail has completed a Bachelor of Information Technology in Web and Software Development at Northrise University, graduating mid-2026. Her heart is overflowing with joy and gratitude to Mrs Chimbili who she calls mum, and all other generous friends and supporters. She dreams of undertaking a master’s degree in the future.
She is excited to begin work with Arising Life Ministries/A Future 4 Kids; the school she calls home. Abigail will help set up systems for teachers, students, and the farm; teach basic computer skills to teachers and all the students; serve as a role model, showing children, especially the girl child, the value of life, importance of education, good morals, and faith.
