Hello Friends,
We are having this year’s fundraiser for our fistula and prolapse work in Uganda on March 28th. There was no fundraiser last year, as, thanks to your generosity, we had accumulated enough money to fund our surgeries for the year. However, now we need your help again! This year, we will be going to Kasese, Uganda in September, and hope to obtain funding for another 120 operations. We also hope to fund some additional prolapse surgeries for another of our doctors – Dr. Alex Mowatt – who, with her family, will be travelling to Uganda in April, to spend the rest of this year working as a medical volunteer in a hospital just outside Entebbe. Judith and Hannah will be conducting another surgical training camp in Myanmar in December which will require some funding for instruments, sutures, and patient travel expenses.
Soiree
Thus, we need your help once more! The cost of the Soiree is a $60 donation to Health and Development Aid Abroad, so it is fully tax-deductible. It is directed in its entirety to our project – Medical Training in Africa and Asia. As HADA is run by volunteers, there are no administration costs, so your total donation is spent on direct patient care. Our doctors pay all their own travel costs. We hope you can join us this year for another most enjoyable evening. There will be unlimited food (including Senayt’s famous Ethiopian curries) and drinks, African music, and of course raffles and auctions!
