Resilience and Empowerment…
In the heart of the Rohingya refugee camps in Bangladesh, amidst ongoing challenges, stories of resilience and empowerment emerge, exemplifying the profound impact of micro business initiatives.
Project Development…
Micro businesses continue to thrive despite the myriad challenges in Cox’s Bazar. Local managers, Zainul and Shimtheya, courageously oversee the distribution of startup funds, enabling business owners to provide for their families.
Impact on the Community…
The micro businesses have become lifelines for many refugees, fostering self-sufficiency and dignity. Vegetable projects are planned for the summer, each requiring around $350. As funds increase, more families can embark on these ventures, contributing to the community’s overall well-being.
Challenges Ahead…
The journey toward self-reliance is fraught with obstacles. Commodity prices are rising in Bangladesh, heavily impacting the Rohingya community. Additionally, the recent decision by the World Food Programme to halve food rations due to funding shortages exacerbates the situation…increasing the urgency for sustainable income sources.
