Sharing Tropical and Theological Library...
In Papua New Guinea, Library Aid International is coordinating the shipment of Bruce and Deb French’s extensive agricultural and theological library to the University of Natural Resources and Environment (UNRE) and Sonoma Adventist College. UNRE plans to feature the books in a new library section dedicated to food plants in the Pacific, fostering access to region-specific agricultural knowledge.
Other successful ventures…
Timor-Leste
FPI is building connections with local and international NGOs, promoting posters and books on traditional food plants. Materials are being printed and distributed to Timor-Leste seasonal workers in Tasmania, who will bring resources back home, fostering community ties.
Zimbabwe
FPI is collaborating with organizations to embed the Local Food Plant Champion initiative into their programs, driving a shift towards nutritious traditional crops like millet and sorghum. FPI board members also presented the initiative at the World Public Health Nutrition Congress in London, creating new international partnerships.
Papua New Guinea
To support agricultural education, FPI is raising funds to print 20 textbooks on Pacific food plants, along with 550 posters, for shipment to PNG universities. These resources will enhance access to regionally focused agricultural knowledge for students and researchers.
