Fundraising and Final Exams
The project has just started so the main work this quarter has been fundraising in order to continue work on the secondary school buildings. This included two successful sales days and preparation of a website and Facebook page, which will hopefully go live in the near future.
Children’s Progress
Meanwhile, our children have grown, are healthy and have moved to the next class; 25 nursery students had a graduation ceremony to celebrate their promotion to the primary level of education. This year 17 primary seven students did their National Primary Leaving Examinations and we are awaiting their excellent results. At the end of this term, we had a parents/ guardians meeting where we discussed strategic and efficient ways in which we can care for and support our children in the coming year. The foster care families have been so useful in catering to the orphans before and after school.
Longings for Advance
We would like to have at least $40,000 over the next six months to make substantial progress on the building. This may enable some students to start at the school in 2020. We need to raise a minimum of $4,000 more over the next three months to keep the project on track, and are hopeful of achieving this.
