Earthquake damages classrooms…
Cracks have appeared in the newly completed triple classroom at Victory School of Hope, officially opened in October 2024! Whilst on the outskirts of Suva and not in the centre of the earthquake, the structural damage has been significant leaving the building unsafe for use.
The UN have provided tents to use as classrooms until the building is deemed safe. They are incredibly grateful for this provision.
What next…
Prior to the earthquake, the following developments were planned for 2025 as funds permitted. These may be delayed until the new building is usable, and funds are available.
- Ablution block for our Secondary school rooms commencing December 2024,
- Primary Classroom for Primary funded,
- Temporary Classroom for year 7 Dec – Jan 2025, and
- Science Laboratory for Secondary school students for next year funding.
