From Strength to Strength…
The Kichwamba Children’s Foundation (KCF) is thriving, and the children are remarkably happy and healthy. Their school year is progressing well – including the change to a new school for the secondary students. 3 boys have begun apprenticeships while 3 others including 2 original boys, are starting their “O levels’ – Senior 5 and 6. It is remarkable to see them excelling in their higher education
Another student has represented the district in ball sports at a regional tournament in Northern Uganda – he was elected captain of the team!
Secondary School shift…
Due to significant challenges and instability in leadership in the previous Secondary School, KCF made the decision to change to a new school slightly further away. They feel vindicated for their decision as the students are progressing well.
Girl’s House News
KCF have employed an excellent new matron to help with the care of the girls…ready to begin operating from the new girls’ house when it opens. To their disappointment, the official opening of the house has been delayed due to a labor strike and their contractor needing to complete another project commenced during the labor strike. The girls are waiting excitedly.
Success story…
Daniel has transformed from a extremely quiet and shy child to become a part of the KCF leadership team. He is well respected by all the children and an example to them all. Last year Daniel graduated and is studying glasswork including cutting and fitting. His progress has been awe-inspiring…KCF witnessed this when he recently repaired a broken windows with ease (and at no cost to KCF!). The other children were very impressed.
