Reaping the benefits…
Six children sponsored since primary school have sat their university entrance examinations with five qualifying for entrance to degree course and one to a diploma course. One of the boys is keen to be a lawyer. They are entering adult life with confidence gained from a good education. Grace Care are most grateful to these donors!
Currently there are 11 primary, and 22 secondary children sponsored, and one girl being helped with her university fees. The 6 graduating teenagers are hoping to enter tertiary education and may also need help with fees.
Donors needed…
They are now seeking more primary school sponsorships. A main overseas sponsor of the children at Rakai primary school ceased their support in 2024. Additional funds from faithful regular Australian donors and five new sponsors are enabling these children to remain at school. Thank you!
This additional burden of maintaining the funding at Rakai school has meant the program is closed to new sponsor children until further sponsors and donors are found. Currently all Australian sponsors are based in New South Wales or South Australia. They are looking for coordinators in other Australian states.
Diversifying…
A coffee plantation of 500 trees was planted to supplement funding for needy children at the Rakai school. It will generate income in two to three years once the bushes are mature. A higher yield is expected after four years.
Additional donations and sales of Ugandan goods have raised over $10,000 in additional funds in the last period to be allocated to support the children currently without long term sponsors.

The project continues to run on schedule, but the number of sponsored children is below target. To expand their impact, more sponsors are needed to provide scholarships and resources.
