A Joyful Start…
The GlenZ Dignity School of Health Sciences (GDSHS), located on the GlenZ Dignity Hospital Campus in Mafubira, Jinja Northern Division, officially opened July 2025. After months of preparation, classes have begun—marking a significant milestone for their vision to strengthen Uganda’s healthcare workforce.
It began with two female students and increased to nine students (seven females and two males). The dedicated team now includes a Principal and three teachers. The atmosphere on campus is alive with enthusiasm. The manager stated “I can hear lessons underway, students asking questions, tutors guiding with patience. Many of the students stop to share how grateful they are to be learning in such a safe, calm, and encouraging environment.”
Priorities for the Coming Months…
In the next three months, their focus will be to:
- complete remaining building works and final campus fittings,
- acquire additional training equipment for the Skills Lab, Computer Lab, and Library, and
- continue outreach and student recruitment across Jinja and neighbouring districts.
Challenges on the Journey…
Their most pressing challenge remains funding. Interest in the project is strong, but securing financial support has been difficult. They are hopeful that new partnerships will emerge to help provide the equipment and resources needed to sustain growth.

A key goal is sharing their story with a wider audience—those who believe in the power of education, healthcare, and community transformation. Raising awareness is essential for building lasting support and ensuring that this vision continues to flourish.
