Hikes continue…
Day outings, hikes to the top of Table Mountain and swimming activities (to name a few) continue for 140 boys in the various groups in Worcester, South Africa. Thankfully most of the boys are attending activities regularly with support and appreciation from their parents. Most children who are avoiding the drug scene prominent around them are behaving responsibly and consistently.
Success story…
The success of the programme can be seen through the heart-warming story of one of the regular boys of the group. His initial encounter with the team saw him rummaging through the trash in his impoverished neighbourhood, with septic sores around his mouth and not enrolled in school. Since joining the programme and hiking, swimming, and attending other spiritual and lifestyle sessions, the team has assisted him to enrol in school, where he has thrived…receiving the class medal for top achievement in grade 1 along with three gold certificates for top performance in three subjects.
