Birth Preparedness Classes
Sonu was one of the participants of birth preparedness classes organized by Asal Chhimekee Nepal. At that time she had two children and she was also pregnant.
Sonu shared that “In birth preparedness classes, I learned about National health insurance, sanitation, hygiene, and birth preparedness. After taking the classes, I started to save money for my delivery and children. During the time of my delivery, there were complications and I had to have an operation, so the expense increased. That time I used my savings. Saving money helped me during my delivery to be able to receive the needed operation immediately and pay for all the medical expenses.
In addition to saving money, on how to take care of my baby and myself like what to eat, when/how and good hygiene. I applied that knowledge and as a result, both my baby and I are healthy. Because of the knowledge that I received from birth preparedness classes, I did not have the troubles I faced during and after my previous delivery. I would like to thank Asal Chhimekee Nepal for organizing birth preparedness classes in my neighborhood.”
