Winter ails…
Winter as always has been particularly difficult for the homeless in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Sergelt Ood support them with the distribution of second-hand winter clothes and boots are to their most needed homeless contacts as well as treating many wounds such as burns and frostbite during outreach on the streets.
Getting back to normal…
With covid related restrictions reduced, they are pleased to recommence with outreach to three locations using the drop-in bus again and the monthly shower house days with provision of second-hand clothes for the homeless. The plan is to start the fellowship meetings again as soon as they have employed another social projects staff member.
Building developments…
Renovations of the main building have been ongoing and the building project for the coffeehouse is commencing soon.
NGO development…
Business planning, recruitment of staff and board members and networking is in full swing. The aim is to have a small group of faithful volunteers to stabilise the social project’s team with people with initiative and vision to develop more services on the streets with increased impact.
The management have met with other local organisation, ‘Oorchloltiin Hotoch’ (addiction counselling and training) and other advisors to enhance cooperation between all overlapping groups and improve the effectiveness of the programmes to meet the needs of the homeless people.
