School prospering…
School year finished on a high note in March with many new students enrolled for the new school year in April. There are currently 63 hostel children, 11 staff children, 76 staff/workers members and 5 graduates living/studying within the campus. Another 24 students are supported in universities across India, 12 agricultural laborers work on our farm and 700+ students studying at the school.
Additional funding is needed to cover upcoming college expenses for the 24 university students.
Soccer tournament…
Several thousand guests attended Christmas celebrations. Celebrations included hosting an inter-school soccer tournament…10 schools from the district competed in knockout matches over 2 days and our school ranked second! The President of the Indian Olympics Association was the chief guest along with the district’s Superintendent of Police.
Reaping well…
Their first major sugar cane harvest went well despite poor weather conditions and fishponds are producing excellent fish and regularly harvested.
Construction tracking well…
Construction of a new carpentry shop was completed within original timeline in Aptil. The collapsed laundry is demolished with plans underway to reconstruct it.
