Two Moving Personal Stories
Bayanmandal has made the move to an alcohol rehabilitation centre, thanks partly to our driver Enkhtur who also lives there which makes it more familiar for Bayanmandal. He is doing well and has wonderfully been able to find his way. We pray he’ll be able to meet with his daughters!
Azaa (Azbayar) who sometimes helped us in the project, and what most of you know relapsed so badly in his addiction and survived another suicide attempt, is now doing very well. After the hospital, my colleagues were eventually able to help him admit to an alcohol rehab center where he is now continuing his road to recovery. His story confirmed again the need for a reintegration program which we hope to set up later this year. Azaa has been 2 years in ‘rehab’ (without adequate program, which is often the case) but after ‘graduating’ was left on his own again, yes, he had a little place to live and a job but that is not enough to make it back in society after a long life of brokenness and addiction. He wasn’t healed enough, lacked tools to better resist temptations and hasn’t been able yet to build a healthy social circle. It is no wonder things turned out this way. Read more on our website about the reintegration program and the reasons for it.
