An Oasis…
The Anchor Day Centre is continuing to grow and bless many children and families in this community amidst the war. A deck was added to the Anchor Day Centre providing more space. They are grateful to all who gave and supported this project.
Number increasing…
They were pleased to receive a call from the social services requesting they assist with another 3 young girls from one family, whose parents are on their ‘last warning’ before having their parental rights removed and the children placed in foster care. They felt honoured to be asked. This now brings the total number of children coming to day center to 22.
Approaching winter…
With the recent attacks on the energy infrastructure throughout Ukraine, they are having 8–12-hour power cuts each day, between 4-6 hours at a time throughout the day and night. The rumble of generators can be heard throughout town with people walking around with head lamps and phone flashlights. They purchased a back-up battery for the Day Centre heating system, to ensure the kids will have continuous heat. They are also looking at pricing a solar – battery system to enable water supply and lights too.
