Schools and Orphanage update…
The school and orphanage are running smoothly. Highlights include:
- Two boys, Leon (Hospitality) and Joy (Automotive), have completed their “Tafe” qualifications. Leon is now employed at a Dhaka Hotel.
- Growth of enrolments at Tongi school continues.
- They received a most welcome $10,000 donation in March!
- The recent elections were non-violent with a clear outcome and no further civil unrest.
Challenges…
- Enrolments are down at Savar school due to the opening of a new school offering free education initially.
- Local storm at Jamalpur brought down a tree that damaged a boundary wall.
Ongoing Schedule…
The activities for this year include:
- Continue to support the boys’ development at the orphanage.
- Continue to support the good functioning of the schools.
- Drive additional enrolments at Tongi, Savar and Uttara schools.
- Follow up with schools in Australia for partnerships.

The most urgent need is fundraising. Efforts are underway to raise the profile of Caleb/HADA through a website refresh and more school delegations.
