Land purchased…
A block of land at a significantly discounted price became available in an area where there is no meeting place. Currently groups such as the Adult Literacy Program are meeting in people’s small houses. The purchase of this property was made possible by specific donations through HADA and through Caleb directly.
In February, a suitable section of the land was raised above flood level in preparation for a new Multi-purpose Educational Building The raised area will be allowed to settle for 12 months prior to building. A Korean church is considering funding the building.
COVID-19 has meant that Caleb Australia Directors are not able to visit but the local manager is on site regularly.
Adults and children benefitting…
Over 900 students and 20 teachers plus 40 are participating in Adult Literacy programs. Many have gained employment through the Adult Literacy programs in Sherpur and the employment skills training in Hotopara.
