Building a community…
The P4K – Help the Homeless program is going strong building relationships between volunteers and the Homeless and as a group…building a community family where volunteers and those they serve, feel at home and loved despite the surrounding environment.
In Melbourne…
Every Tuesday evening, they feed and help homeless individuals and families with homemade meals. On Christmas Eve the Melbourne team went all out with a Feast BBQ celebrating Christmas where everyone became a family. The Melbourne Team recommenced in January.
In Brisbane…
In Brisbane, they Help the Homeless by supporting the Northwest Community Group and Emmanuel City Mission in and around the Brisbane CBD. On Christmas Eve they supplied 100kg of Lamb Shanks in Red Wine sauce, hundreds of cartons of soft drink & snack foods.
The Cook 4 Jesus program where locals cook home cooked meals restarted in February 2025 and Barra Boys’ Fish & Chip program recommenced in January.
In Sydney…
Sadly, the Sydney program has been paused for the past 3 months because of lack of Volunteers. The funding allocation is being used in Brisbane.
Challenges…
- There is so much need within the homeless community it’s hard to decide who to help and who not to help.
- Dealing with the Homeless and Street people is not easy and sometimes dangerous.
- Need for more volunteers in Sydney.
