Zambia has Talent…
In November, “Zambia has Talent” was held on Zoom and thoroughly enjoyed by the children, staff and viewers! The attached pictures are a sample of the talents exhibited.
New school in action…
Students have moved to the new AF4K (A Future 4Kids) school and have settled well into all programmes…education, counselling, feeding program, medical support, sport and recreation by students and the community. The school is sponsoring two successful community football teams…under 15 and under 20 in the Zambian Football Association League.
Popularity has spread…
Due to the wide local publicity, 50 University of Zambia students from Lusaka visited and participated in activities and serving food. They donated some support items…food, books, clothes, shoes, and cleaning materials for the children.
Working the land…
Because of late rains, corn seed and ground nuts were planted to subsidise the feeding program.
Challenges ahead…
- Six hours load shedding every day will negatively affect operations especially when schools open in January…incurring extra costs to use the generator to pump water. Solar power is being considered.
- They are waiting for the Government to second some government teachers to the school in 2023 to relieve the burden on the current teachers.
- The construction of the dining hall has reached roof level. There is an urgent need for more funding to complete the work.
