Happy children…
The children are happily back in school, enjoying the camaraderie and learning. Many of the children received excellent reports from their first semester back after an almost-two-year hiatus due to the Pandemic.
Easter is a celebrated holiday in Uganda. At KCF (Kichwamba Children’s Foundation) they had a special meal for children, staff families from the neighbouring communities, especially those in need.
Good news stories…
Excitingly, an very talented former KCF member has officially begun his training as a medical lab technician in an extremely competitive program due to his excellent grades. He was one of the first orphans in 2011 and voted Head Boy for 3 years by the other boys. Since graduating, Bieven worked studiously as a teaching assistant to save sufficient funds to pay for a diploma. KCF are delighted to support him through his training for which he is deeply grateful, humbled, and filled with hope about what lies ahead in his life and career.
All children remained in good health over the past three months…not a single child suffered with any illness that required treatment!
Things to come…
- Plans for the construction of a much needed home for girls are in progress.
- A solar improvement project is underway.
- The library is being stocked with a new set of schoolbooks…direct from the publishers…for the revamped senior curriculum.
