Program valued…
P4K’s mission to develop educational facilities, offer quality education and support the community where they can, has become known throughout the country as a positive influence on children and the community.
Current student numbers listed below are a testament to this.
- Tower Hill College – 200 students
- Tower Hill Kindy – 20 Students
- Tower Hill Junior School– 40 students
- KrooBay Primary School – 500 students
- Syke St School – 900 students
- Waterloo School – 1200 students
Due to overcrowding of their own facilities, the focus is increasingly on scholarships to the public system. They are currently support approximately 400 children into the Public School System.
Overseas Volunteers gratefully received…
A highlight is overseas volunteers who apply and arrive to help from all parts of the world! The locals always view them as very special.
Challenges…
- Choosing who to help and who not to help is always a gut-wrenching decision. Education is cheap in emerging countries but the number of children wanting it is astronomical.
- The Global Crisis has made their staple foods, such as rice, increase over 300% and child abandonment is out of control.
- With no public or government social services, the mission is overwhelmed with requests for help.
