A Season of Joy…
After weeks of disciplined practice, the children presented Christmas choreographies and skits to the villagers and guests from surrounding communities, that reflected strong teamwork and creativity. The children received new Christmas clothes and gifts, a tangible reminder that they are loved and remembered, filling the room with smiles and joy!
A New Chapter: Soni’s Wedding…
In September, GCM planned, supported and conducted the wedding of Soni, a daughter of Ashir Children Home. Government officials, together with GCM leaders, formally recognized the marriage, demonstrating strong local support to ensure these children receive care until they are well established in life.
A Life Restored…
This year, a girl orphaned at a young age, was living with a distant grandmother who tragically exploited her by trafficking her into prostitution. Today, she is safe in the Children’s Home—moving from trauma to peace. Her restored smile stands as one of our greatest victories this year.
Academic Excellence: Benjamin’s Journey
Benjamin is a powerful example of what is possible when potential meets opportunity. Having completed his education under the care of Ashir Children Home, he graduated at top in his B.Sc. Computer Science program and is now enrolled in an MBA in Germany. Benjamin stands as a role model for younger children, showing them that their dreams are within reach.
All the children in the home are preparing for their final examinations in February with school year ending in April.
Challenges…
- Having the resources to continue maintaining the Children’s Home to government regulations, providing healthy food and excellent care for the 71 children can be a struggle. All donations are most appreciated.
- Electric light poles running across the orphanage are a hazard and need to be removed.
- An English medium primary school for the children and for others in surrounding community is needed.
