COVID-19 effects ongoing
The temporarily shutdown of the school as of 15 March 2021 continues. However, the students are currently being vaccinated against COVID-19. Once all the students and pupils from the high school and primary schools are fully vaccinated, the government will allow the schools nationwide to be reopened.
Education and training continue online
Will and Julie and the Educational Life International Cambodia (ELIC) leadership in Phnom Penh and Singapore continue management the school using technology.
Teaching has resumed again online. Pupils are able to continue with the lessons using their parent’s cellphones with the Telegram App. where available. The teachers have discussed the online teaching with the parents to facilitate this.
The four teachers are currently receiving training from the ELIC school in Phnom Penh including English, teaching skills and leadership sessions. Regular online meetings with the teachers, ELIC leadership and Will and Julie continue several times a week.
Teachers appreciated!
The ELIC leaders organised a day of appreciation for the teachers of Good Neighbours (GN) along with the ELIC teachers in Phnom Penh.
Support from Department of Education
The Samreong District Department of Education provided some school supplies such as books and hand soap to the preschool and all the other schools in the district.
Awaiting outcomes…
- The Registration of the ELIC program in Cambodia and Singapore
- The application for the NGO visas.
