Books, Books, Books…
2020 has been an unbelievable year as we have had to spend an extra day per week – now three days – with several additional volunteers sorting out the huge influx of books that have been donated for kids in developing countries. This means that our old shipping container stored in a local transport company depot is now basically full of donated books needing to be checked and sorted. At the 63% level, it will be ready to send by mid-year.
After actively seeking opportunities for presentations of our work we have received five invitations, from two churches, Lions Club, Probus Club and Catholic School Librarians which may result in yet more books.
The Immediate Plan
Our plan is to keep sorting and repacking books so as to fill our 8th shipping container. Over the last 8 years more that 200 schools and innumerable children have had the pleasure of reading books of all kinds and enriching their learning experience. And we don’t want that to stop!
