Effective training…
Many women have their lives back through the amazing work of Professor Judith Goh and her team in training local doctors and holding camps/workshops where they operate to repair fistulas and prolapses with the local doctors.
The effects of this training are seen in the ongoing treatment of patients in Uganda and request at new centres to return for further camps/workshops to upskill local practitioners…this is music to the ears of Professors Judith Goh and Hannah Krause and their support team.
Prof Judith Goh stated recently that her aim is to increase her time in Africa and Asia to improve the lives of these women with fistulas and prolapses…treatable conditions with terrible consequences if ignored.
Busy schedule…
Profs Hannah Krause and Judith Goh are planning to go to Uganda in April. Prof Judith is planning to visit India then and then to South Sudan (Wau and Juba) – for 2 fistula camps in June 2023. She has received requests to assist and upskill local practitioners at new sites in Uganda…Kampala in April 2023 and Kitovu Hospital for fistula camps/workshops in August and October 2023
Drs Baluku and Marvin are continuing with patient care in Uganda. Dr Marianna has returned to South Sudan after spending time at our August camp at Rwibaale with new skills to assist her patients.
Challenges…
- They are still have issues obtaining ureteric catheters.
- Time management especially for Judith as she will be travelling in April, June, August, September, October and December.
