Cold News from Kazakhstan
Well, ironically, it’s too cold to build snowmen! Usually we can only build snow men in the early part of winter and towards the end when temperatures are a little warmer. When it gets down to -22 C as it is right now, the snow is too dry to pack together. Probably not something normally observed with the snow there in Australia.
Ice Slides not Water Slides
Instead, people build ice-slides here – pile up snow and pour water over them to then slide down. Or, some people even make ice sculptures! We are looking forward to ice skating outside again. At the start of this month the city usually starts making ice rinks in the parks and clears the snow off the canal for skating. Should be fun!
Hope you don’t have too sweltering of a summer there.
